Young Entrepreneurs Set to Showcase Their Businesses at Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market
The next generation of Hawke’s Bay entrepreneurs will take centre stage at the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market this August, as more than 90 Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) teams bring their businesses to market across two Sundays.
Due to record participation this year, the Young Enterprise Scheme student market has expanded across 2 August and 9 August, giving visitors even more opportunities to discover innovative products, creative services, and support local young business talent.
The Young Enterprise Scheme in Hawke’s Bay involves more than 500 students from 19 secondary schools across the region. Throughout the year, students develop, launch and operate their own businesses, gaining practical experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance and customer engagement through a series of real-world business challenges.
One of the highlights of the programme is selling to the public at the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market, where students have the opportunity to test their products, build confidence and receive valuable feedback from customers.
The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market has proudly supported the Young Enterprise Scheme since 2001, providing an authentic trading environment that connects students with thousands of local shoppers.
The community is encouraged to come along to the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market at the Exhibition Hall, Tōmoana Showgrounds, on Sunday 2 August and Sunday 9 August. Gates open at 8.30am, with students trading alongside the market’s regular stallholders.
