Our plants are hardy

Links Organics needs no introduction to most regulars at both the Napier and Hastings Farmers’ Markets. Their ever changing, ever growing selection of seedlings, micro greens and vegetables is remarkable!

Gay and Robert grow using organic principles, their plants are hardy due to the way they’re planted. The tomato’s have been outside for weeks, this develops a strong root system which strengthens the plant. Robert doesn’t have a favourite plant as such, but he’s always excited about the next thing coming up, right now it’s tomatoes!

For both Gay and Robert, the Farmers’ Markets are as much about the people as it is the plants. “It’s a hugely social day, you get to know people, what they’d like to grow, what they’re interested in”. Oh and if you get in early, grab a few eggs, they’re delicious!
